Win Only If Bets allow players to wager on multiple matchups, moving to the next wager if the previous wager wins. Win Only If Bets seem confusing, to say the least. It’s important to learn this bet and add it to your arsenal. If Bets are substantially less risky compared to parlays.
Let’s examine the If Bet in a series of examples, broken down piece by piece.
A bettor wants to make a Win Only If Bet on the following games, choosing the Patriots, Colts, and Bears as winners:
Matchup 1. Patriots -120 vs. Jets
Matchup 2. Colts -180 vs. Cowboys
Matchup 3. Bears +160 vs. Seahawks
Note: The sportsbook shall pay winnings at True Odds. Refer to a parlay card for regular parlay payouts.
Example 1: Bettor makes a successful 3 matchup Win Only If Bet
1. A bet of $120 is placed on the Patriots in the first matchup, -120 to win $100. If the player wins, he gets his $120 wager plus $100 winnings = $220 total.
2. Next, the player can wager on the Colts favored to win at -180, because his Patriots bet won.
He can bet no more than the $220 win from the Patriots bet. The player bets $200 on the Colts. If the player is successful, he gets his $200 wager plus $111 winnings = $311 total.
3. The two prior wins lead the player to his third and final wager. He wagers on the Bears +160.
He can bet no more than the total winnings from his Colts bet. The player bets $300 on the Bears. If the player is successful, he gets his $300 wager plus $480 winnings = $780 total.
The player’s bet has finished successfully.
The player now calculates his winnings + wagers: $220 (Wager 1) + $311 (Wager 2) + $780 (Wager 3) = $1311 winnings and wagers. Not bad!
Example 2: Player only wins 2 of 3 bets
1. Consider the example above. The player wins bets 1 and 2, the Patriots -120 and Colts -160 respectively.
2. The two prior wins lead the player to his third and final wager. He wagers on the Bears +160.
He can bet no more than the total winnings from his Colts bet. The player bets $300 on the Bears. The player loses his Bears bet.
The player now calculates his winnings + wagers: $220 (Wager 1) + $311 (Wager 2) – $300 (Wager 3) = $231winnings and wagers.
Example 3: Player only wins 1 of 3 bets
1. Consider the example above. The player wins bet 1, the Patriots -120.
2. The wins lead the player to his second wager. He wagers on the Colts -180.
He can bet no more than the total winnings from his Patriots bet. The player bets $200 on the Colts. The player loses his Colts bet.
The player’s loss on the matchup means all remaining bets are off.
The player now calculates his winnings + wagers: $220 (Wager 1) – $200 (Wager 2) = $20 winnings and wagers.
Important Notes:
1. Win Only If Bets can have more than 3 bets. Most sportsbooks offer up to 15 bets.
2. Players can combine different choices on the favorite or underdog. Different types of wagers can be combined.
